Synopsis for Tom Sawyer:

Tom Sawyer was a popular film version of the Mark Twain boyhood adventure story, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. It starred Johnny Whitaker as Tom Sawyer, Jodie Foster as Becky Thatcher and Jeff East as Huckleberry Finn. The movie was produced by Reader's Digest. Along with the Twain story, the film was also a musical, with screenplay and songs by the "Sherman Brothers," aka Robert B. Sherman and Richard M. Sherman. Charlie Pride performed the opening tune "River Song". The film garnered some scandal as both boy actors appeared nude in the "Freebootin'" segment.
